Working as supply chain manager in the field
As a Supply Chain Manager working for MSF you will support the mission by facilitating the flow of goods through accurate forecasting. You will analyse in-country contexts in order to design, plan and set up a relevant supply chain, thus ensuring operational optimisation.
Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the Coordination team, participate in defining or revising the mission supply chain strategy according to the context and the operational needs of the mission
- Ensure the stability of supply activities within regular and emergency interventions
- In line with MSF’s protocols and standards, propose strategic adjustments when needed
- Organise and ensure the standardisation of order, procurement, transportation and delivery management
- Offer ongoing technical support to the supply teams as well as other departments (e.g. Medical, Logistics, Human Resources)
- Ensure efficient supply administration and provide adapted tools to support the various supply activities
- Approve the use of supply-related third parties (suppliers, transport companies, freight forwarders)
- Manage, train and supervise the team through activities such as capacity-building, briefing/debriefing and evaluation of staff
Depending on our activities and needs, your responsibilities may be adapted and evolve according to the specific projects.
Requirements:
You will not be facing these challenges alone—other MSF team members, both international and locally hired staff, will provide technical support, including extensive guidelines and protocols.
- Diploma in supply chain management
- At least two years’ relevant professional experience
- Versatile professional experience (e.g. procurement, import/export, transport/freight, stock management)
- IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Fluency in English and/or French; any other languages are an asset (Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian)
- Available for a minimum of six months
