Working as fleet manager in the field
As a fleet manager, you will be responsible for establishing strategies to optimise the management of vehicles, including their maintenance and renewal. You will also ensure passenger safety, equipment reliability, service continuity, administrative follow-up and cost control.
Responsibilities
- Optimise the size and use of the fleet to reduce mileage and fuel consumption
- In collaboration with the coordination teams, plan the annual budget for the garage, vehicle costs, maintenance, and fuel consumption
- Check that vehicles and other motorized equipment (generators, pumps, etc.) are inspected according to MSF protocols
- Check that maintenance services are carried out on time and properly recorded
- Monitor fuel consumption (quality and quantity)
- Carry out technical assessments of rented vehicles and draw up the necessary documents (contracts)
- As required, identify potential local suppliers for the annual supply of spare parts and organise the storage of these parts
- Motivate, train and technically supervise the team of drivers through activities such as capacity building, briefings/debriefings and staff appraisals
- Participate in the HR processes associated with the motor pool staff
Requirements
- At least two years working experience in activities related to fleet management
- Driving license
- Experience in administrative work
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Fluent in English and/or French, other languages an asset (Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian)
- Availability for at least six months
