Working as project medical referent in the field
You are responsible for implementing the programmes and coordinating the human and material resources needed to ensure that MSF provides high standards of care.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper monitoring of the programme through medical data collection, analysis and reporting to the Medical Coordination in the capital
- Coordinate, supervise, coach, support (also technically) and evaluate medical team members’ performance to improve the medical components of the project and ensure compliance with MSF standards and protocols
- Plan and supervise, in close collaboration with the Project Coordinator, personnel management (such as recruitment, training, induction, etc.) of the medical staff of the project to ensure that the right amount of staff and the right skills are available, and improve staff capabilities
- Efficiently supervise management of the MSF field pharmacy and medical equipment in collaboration with the Logistics Department; monitor consumption and the placing of medical orders to ensure a supply of drugs, medical materials, medical devices and consumables under all circumstances and avoid stock shortages
- Implement the health policy for international and national staff, including all necessary prophylactic and preventive measures, structures and emergency plans
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of the project policy, annual plan, budget review and donor reporting for the medical department
Requirements
- World-recognized medical diploma or world-recognized paramedical diploma in nursing or midwifery
- Recent clinical experience (at least six months within
the last 24 months) - Experience in a management position
- Experience working in another country or cultural setting, as well as in emergency settings
- IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Fluency in English and/or French; any other languages are an asset (Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian)
- Available for a minimum of six months
